Nos.Social is healthier social media. Through our open-source social media app, developed on the decentralized Nostr protocol, we are flipping the traditional power dynamics of social media on their head to give users unprecedented control over their experience.

As a Lead UX Designer at Nos.Social, you will be responsible for establishing ux best practices while redefining the social media experience.  Cross-functonal collaboration is a cornerstone of how we work in this role you'll have the opportunity to work closely with your peers to identify solutions to some of today’s most challenging social media problems.  As the Lead UX Designer, you will coach the other designer on the team.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers to understand the opportunity space including, but not limited to discovery research, competitor reviews and data analysis
  • Lead solutioning / ideation sessions with cross-functional collaborators or other designers
  • Develop user journeys and wireframes
  • Prepare files for prototype tests
  • Review existing app for product / ux debt to identify process improvements
  • Coach UX designer in best practices for documenting workflows, designing for edge cases, presenting work
  • Support the development of a Design System

What we are looking for:

We’re seeking a designer who is passionate about building positive experiences for end users inline with Nos’s values of building a healthier social media commons.

  • 3+ years of iOS mobile app design experience
  • 2+ years of experience managing and coaching junior designers into ux experts
  • Well versed in Figma, including the creation Design Systems
  • Start-up experience a bonus
  • Interest in or experience building human-centered experiences and products

This is a 6 month contract position with an option to evolve into a full time role. The expectation is to work 40 hours per week with the ability to attend team meetings during the core hours of 18:00-22:00 UTC. This is a global remote role and you will be joining a small team that is distributed around the world. This position will include collaborating with team members in other timezones and attending weekly planning meetings and daily standups.
